It turns out the small changes we can implement in our households today truly can, and will, be the difference. If you don’t believe us, take it from Norman, the ‘eco-warrior’ cat. Big issues, like energy and water conservation and waste management are rooted in simple habit changes and mindfulness. According to this World Wildlife Fund Canada video, “If everyone in the United States turned off the water while they brush their teeth, the daily savings could be up to 2.538 billion gallons. That’s more than twice as much water than the entirety of New York City uses in a day.”

The changes can be as simple as turning the furnace down a degree, leaving a reminder at the front door to take along reusable bags to the grocer, or pulling out a wrench and new O-ring to fix a leaky faucet. Maybe it requires a phone call to your power company, or a switch to a provider that uses renewable resources (like BullFrog Power).

Though the story of the ‘eco-warrior’ cat is humorous, the subject matter can only be taken in earnest. Whether your ‘eco-warrior’ self decides to challenge the status quo with one change or 15, don’t be afraid to start your mission today—you are a crucial piece of the big difference we all need to get serious about.
